This policy explains what data IndieLeader collects, why, and what happens with it. Questions? Email info@nexbase.nl.
What we collect
- GitHub account data — when you sign in with GitHub OAuth we receive your name, GitHub username, email address, avatar and an access token. The token is stored encrypted and is only used to read commit statistics for the repositories you link.
- Repository statistics — for each repository you link we store commit counts, repository metadata (stars, forks, languages, description) and, for public repositories, your five most recent commit messages. For private repositories we store counts only: no commit messages, hashes or links.
- Optional profile data — an X (Twitter) username, if you choose to set one.
- Payment data — payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we only record that your account is unlocked.
- Usage data — we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Analytics cookies are only placed after you consent via our cookie banner.
What is public
IndieLeader is a public leaderboard. Your name, GitHub username, avatar, optional X username, linked repository names, commit counts and achievements are visible to anyone. Don't link a repository if you don't want its name and your commit counts to be public.
Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies (such as your login session) are always active; analytics cookies from Google Analytics are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
Third parties
- GitHub — authentication and commit statistics.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics, with consent.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time on your profile page — this permanently removes your account, repositories and statistics from the leaderboard. You can also revoke IndieLeader's access at any time in your GitHub settings.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@nexbase.nl. We'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
